Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the largest administrative region in France, has launched a call for new solar projects to encourage access to power purchase agreements (PPAs) for companies. The recently launched call for projects is expected to promote affordable local energy supply for industrial companies in the region, especially in the form of new solar plants.
Companies will be able to apply for two types of aid: a grant for technical and legal feasibility studies (up to a maximum of 70% of the costs) or financial aid in the form of a loan or guarantee as part of the support provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
For both types of aid, the subsidies will be paid directly to the owner of the solar project. In addition, selected companies will be assisted in the choice of the type and tariff of PPA.
The call for projects will be open until December 31st 2023 for companies whose electricity consumption on site or from sites located in Nouvelle-Aquitaine is greater than 5 GWh per year. They can apply individually or in groups, or as part of a PPA with multiple buyers.
