Rezolv Energy announced a 10-year cross-boarded wind PPA with Etem Gestamp

This is Rezolv Energy’s seventh PPA, and the second it has signed with a company in the automotive sector

Etem Gestamp, the Sofia-based joint venture between Viohalco and Spain’s Gestamp Group, has reached a significant sustainability milestone by signing a 10-year cross-boarder wind VPPA with Rezolv Energy.

Under the Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA), Etem Gestamp will source clean electricity from Rezolv’s 461MW ‘VIFOR’ wind farm in Romania. This marks Rezolv Energy’s first PPA of 2026 and Etem Gestamp’s third long-term renewable deal, following a 10-year solar PPA signed in 2022.

By combining this new wind supply with its existing solar capacity, Etem Gestamp is strategically balancing its consumption profile. This diversification is central to the company’s goal of reaching a 70% renewable energy mix by 2027.

This deal is Rezolv Energy’s seventh PPA in the region and its second within the automotive sector, following a landmark agreement with Bekaert in 2024. It underscores a growing trend of heavy industry in Southeastern Europe transitioning toward electrification and high energy efficiency.

About the VIFOR Wind Farm

Located in Buzău County, Romania, VIFOR is set to become one of Europe’s largest onshore wind farms. Benefiting from exceptional wind yields near the Carpathian Mountains, the project will generate enough clean energy to power over 270,000 homes while avoiding 540,000 tonnes of $CO_2e$ emissions annually.
